GASK, the Central Bohemian Art Gallery is a remarkably good art museum for a small city like Kutna Hora. It’s campus is next to the famous cathedral. I spent 15 min in the cathedral and more than 3 hours in the art museum, including some time in the garden and the coffee shop.
The artwork in the permanent exhibit is arranged by themes, such as hope, friendship, freedom, mind, and many more. The pieces of art on a given theme are accompanied by interesting quotes on the specific theme, quotes by prominent Czech and world thinkers. Thus, the exhibit is bi-modal, paintings and text.
I think this gallery alone would justify a visit to Kutna Hora. An old town stroll would be a nice complement to the gallery visit.
